A message to my Japanese viewers whose New Year’s resolution is to get better at English to not forget that language is just a tool for communication. It may be one of the many factors of getting the job you want or building the career you want, but not the determinant. A lot of young people in Japan are very focused on studying English so much so that they forget that they need other skills to really build a successful career.
