I’m currently in the small town of Aya (population 7,000!) in Miyazaki Prefecture on a temporary work placement. Follow my journey as I try my best to adjust to the different pace, culture, and people here in Southern Kyushu, Japan.
In this video, we go hiking into the mountains, to celebrate the Ume Matsuri, (Plum Blossom Festival), a small local celebration where the entire community comes together to pitch in. I had the best food here! I wish you could try it too.
